Crisis Center

Alleged victim / affected by domestic violence (along with the people dependent on him/her), victim / affected by domestic violence are subject of enrollment in the Crisis Center.

  • Alleged Victim of domestic violence is a family member whose constitutional rights and freedoms were violated by negligence and/ or physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence or coercion and who was given the status of a victim of domestic violence by the relevant service of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of Georgia and/or by a court and/or by a group tasked with determining the victims of domestic violence (victim identification group);
  • Alleged Victim is a family member who is determined as victim of domestic crime (Article 111) and domestic violence (Article 1261) under the Criminal Code of Georgian by Criminal Prosecution Body in the manner determined by Georgian legislation.
  • Alleged victim of domestic violence is a person who believes  himself/herself to be a victim of domestic violence and an authorized employee of a crisis center shall based on a special questionnaire determine the alleged fact of domestic violence (psychological, physical, economic, sexual abuse, coercion, negligence) against such person by a family member
  • Dependent person is a child up to 18 years of age of alleged victims of a domestic violence, as well as a person whose legitimate representative is alleged victim of domestic violence.

 

A person shall not be admitted to a service shelter of victims of human trafficking and domestic violence in the following cases: 

  • If a person (except the dependent person) does not have the status of victim or affected person by the human trafficking and / or status of victims or affected person by the domestic violence;
  • There is a danger of inflicting significant damage to other beneficiaries directly by him/ her;
  • Has a pet (cat, dog, etc.) and asks to stay with it in the shelter;
  • In other cases determined by Georgian legislation.

The state shelters of victims of human trafficking and domestic violence provide beneficiaries with the following services:

  • Daily accommodation (shelter);
  • Psychological and social rehabilitation;
  • Organizing / receiving medical services;
  • Legal assistance;
  • Translator service, if necessary;
  • Other services, if necessary

The crisis center provides the alleged victims / affected by human trafficking (along with the dependents), with the following services:

 

  • Daily accommodation (crisis center);
  • Psychological and social rehabilitation;
  • Organizing / receiving primary medical care;
  • Legal assistance (on issues related to the status of victim of domestic violence);
  • Translator service, if necessary;
