The project “Health Care Response to Domestic Violence / Gender-based Violence” aims to support the Government of Georgia through improvements of mechanisms of protection and support of the victims of domestic violence and strengthening of the national referral mechanism by engaging health system professionals, which would be health care system response to domestic violence / gender-based violence. Project is funded by the UNFPA.
The main objective of the project is
- To ensure health care system response to domestic violence / gender-based violence;
- to Provide a pilot trainings for the primary health care doctors on the identification of physicians, psychological and sexual abuse against women, treatment principles and referral issues.
The activities envisioned by the project are:
- Training of trainers (12 health care workers);
- Trainings for primary health care doctors (75 health care workers).

Duration of the project is 8 months.
